Over thinking By Brian Nyoto
I yearn to jump in cold water,
To feel the cool embrace of the azure droplets Dancing on my
fair skin
My minute hairs swaying and bending to its will
Without bearing the burden that is, question
To question oneself, akin to
melting ash consuming my poor head
Oh my captor!
Grey matter!
I yearn for the day you will release me
Break the rusting, ebony shackles that bind me
End the lifting of my frail left arm and spreading of my weak
little fingers on my heavy head
Free me From the bondage that is, question,
To question oneself without rest, akin to a thick mist that blinds my orbs
Oh my captor!
Wont you free me, Grey matter?
Oh hear my pleas grey matter!
Let me return to:
a time I jumped in cold water
a time when the azure droplets danced on my fair skin
a time when I left caution to the wind
a time when naivety was my closest ally
a time when I lived in reality!
I yearn: to stop overthinking,
For a time I'll be Over-thinking,
And just take the plunge
